Chris Doran |
A resident of Ashton and I run our business from the Village. We have undertaken CCTV, Alarm, Network and Fire Risk Assessment work for ACHCL at the Golden Lion, I know the project very well. An honours degree graduate from Bristol University (Economics and Accountancy) and Post Graduate Qualified in International Marketing. I believe in a pragmatic approach for the Golden Lion that reflects the best interests of the AHCL shareholders but this must also reflect the best interests of the landlord and customers and users. A keen golfer, sports fan and Golden Lion regular from opening night. |

Chris John |
I have lived in Ashton Hayes since 1988 and retired in 2019 after a career as a Chemical Engineer and Project Manager. For 12 months I was a regular member of the volunteer team that renovated the Golden Lion and am immensely proud of what the community delivered. I have been visiting pubs for close to 50 years and would like to use that ‘knowledge’ to build upon our pub’s outstanding start and make the Golden Lion a commercial and community success story. |
 |
Colin Bergstrand |
I have lived in Ashton Hayes for over 20 years and was a regular member of the local team who assisted in the renovation of the Golden Lion from start to finish. Consequently, I have an intimate knowledge of the project and the work that was done to restore the Golden Lion to its current state. In my working career I have negotiated and managed numerous service contracts. I am local, approachable and a good listener and would welcome the opportunity to help ensure the Golden Lion continues to thrive as the valuable community asset it is. |
 |
Hugo Deynem |
Hugo has lived in the village for over 40 years. He is a local Borough Councillor on Cheshire West & Chester Council. He previously held a role on Ashton Hayes Parish Council and has a track record of involvement in community projects and support roles. He has been Chair of AHCHL over the purchase and refurbishment period of the project and would like to provide the continuity this experience has provided through into the operational phase of the committee. Hugo previously ran his own local business for many years and now works for an international renewable energy company, managing contractor’s Health & Safety globally for the business. |
 |
John Hirst |
After almost 25 years as a practicing commercial solicitor, I joined an education, lifestyle and games software publisher as Commercial Director, later becoming MD of a childcare nursery business followed by acquiring and operating websites selling men’s designer wear from brands such as Armani, Hugo Boss and Stone Island. I retired in 2016, moving to Ashton Hayes in 2018 and I was very pleased to join the Golden Lion committee in 2020 and to be involved in all the efforts to Save the Golden Lion for the benefit of the Community. |
 |
Linda Peppin |
I have lived in the village for nearly eleven years and am now retired after a career in marketing and IT. I am Chair of the Ashton Hayes Gardening Club and a volunteer in the Community Shop. I joined the interim committee around nine years ago, and my responsibilities include managing the shareholder database, email and social media communications, and maintaining the AHCHL website. |

Matthew Clark |
Matt is a former Royal Navy Pilot and Operations Officer who project managed the community-led renovation of The Golden Lion, including crafting much of the internal joinery. He continues to support the project through tenant liaison and involvement in ongoing maintenance and improvements. Having lived in Ashton Hayes for five years with his young family, Matt also runs a local bespoke furniture business and brings management, leadership and business experience to Ashton Hayes Community Hub |

William Partington |
I graduated from Liverpool University last year with a Masters in Biological sciences. I have lived in the village all my life. I have previously worked in the village shop and currently work at The Golden Lion, giving me a unique insight into what customers want as well as what can be done to help the pub run smoothly. I am a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiastic about the pub and what it can offer – I am also organised and love a spreadsheet! |
